The Church Safety Team is a volunteer group of healthcare professionals who provide immediate, on-site first aid and emergency response during worship services and church events. Their primary goal is to stabilize individuals and manage medical crises, coordinate with EMS, and manage next steps.
Key responsibilities
- Initial Assessment: Quickly evaluating sick or injured congregants to determine the severity of the emergency.
- Life-Saving Interventions: Administering CPR, operating automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and treating conditions like choking, fainting, or allergic reactions.
- Coordination: Collaborating with staff and directing incoming emergency medical services (EMS) to the exact location of the incident.
